Servant Leadership
The leadership impact of Jesus continues 2000 years after His crucifixion.
Jesus set a powerful example of “servant leadership,” teaching his disciples to serve others out of their love for God. He said, “Whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant” (Matthew 20:26). Jesus also said, “The greatest among you must be like the youngest, and the leader like the servant” (Luke 22:26). Jesus demonstrated true humility in his leadership, serving others out of love instead of seeking power or recognition.
Servant Leadership is an approach to leadership that can be seen in many different settings, from corporate boardrooms to non-profit organizations. By acting with humility and putting others first, Servant Leaders are able to create a positive and productive work environment where everyone feels valued and respected. Jesus set the standard for this type of leadership, showing us that true greatness comes from serving others. Servant Leadership is a powerful way to lead and make a positive impact in the world.
These principles can also extend beyond leadership roles, helping us to become more compassionate individuals who are open to serving others without seeking glory or recognition. By following Jesus’ example, Servant Leaders strive to serve first and lead second. They put the needs of the people they are leading first, and seek to create an environment where everyone is valued and supported. They strive to be humble and open-minded, always looking for new ways to serve their teams. Servant Leadership requires patience, selflessness, and a willingness to put aside ego in order to better lead those around them. Learn to serve first and lead second.
